(This haka was first performed by the All Blacks versus South Africa on 27 August 2005 at Carisbrook, Dunedin. The All Blacks won 31 - 27. This haka was written by Ngati Porou's Derek Lardelli. This haka will only be performed before special test matches.)

and I love how the aussie commentator's don't click to the fact that they've just seen a whole new haka performed for the first time (for an Australian team).
the other thing is ... how accurate are these translations?
I can certainly match up the latter bits of both, but the first few lines don't quite match up for me.
anyone with better te reo than me wanna shed some light on the issue...?
Kapa o Pango is the same haka as the ABs used on their big "Invincibles" 1924 tour when they won all 32 games. Only a couple of words have been altered - like Kapa o pango substituted for Niu Tirini.
The meaning is closer to
Let me be one with the land!

i m from germany and lived for almost 6 months in new zealand...best time of my life i must say. now, i m supposed to perform the haka on stage in a couple of weeks and i m kinda scared to do a bad job...does anyone of u has got an idea for the presentation so that everyones gonna be impressed? would be awesome...love sonja
