Beleaguered Resurgent NZ Knights

Dropkicks correspondent Livs suggests that, in light of their new management, coach, and two wins on the trot (one over reigning champions, Sydney FC), that our favourite under-performing soccer team - the Beleaguered NZ Knights - be renamed to better reflect their newfound game-winning ability.

It shall be so. From henceforth, until they become beleaguered again, the team shall be known as...

The Resurgent NZ Knights.

Im not in favour of this unilateral decision making here. They are still the beleagured Knights. Two wins does not a season make. They still have no owners, have the worst for and against in the competition, are the favourites for the wooden spoon and unless they get an owner who is willing to part with $2 million, they will be watching the A-League next year on TV (instead of watching it being played around them, while on the field).

Telling it like it is.

harsh sentiments, but noted.

and, using google news as a guide...

resurgent nz knights: 9 hits
beleaguered nz knights: 18 hits

...confirms the Mallets point.

perhaps something to be debated at the next podcast. panel discussion?

The players are trying now? How come they werent trying from the start?

I dont want to appear bloodyminded on this one, but as an ardent football fan and a proud kiwi, i shall not hold the knights up to be lauded until they consistently perform at the top level. Or at least develop young talent, not play host of a geriatric ex-pat summer football camp.

Okay, i'll give you that, they probably were trying but now their efforts were paying off!
Sadly, my football supporting results in appreciating the small things, as happens when you support a team such as Newcastle FC.
Looking forward to the new saeson of podcasts!
