World Cup Country Profiles - Namibia

I hate to burst the bubble of any dedicated fans out there, but Namibia are not going to win the World Cup. If a recent 103-13 loss to South Africa is anything to go by, Namibia are a side that exists for two reasons. Two potentially provide South Africa with players, and to provide South Africa with statistics to inflate the careers of those players...

All that said, the Welwitschias are a feisty team made up of of what looks to be the same German-Dutch stock who colonised South Africa.

In other words, big, ugly, squared-headed bastards who like their meat dried in a cage.

Yes. So just when you thought one country full of these buggers was enough, it turns out it gave birth to another in 1990.

Namibia kicks off their short stint at the World Cup with an September 9 opener against Ireland. They are then playing France on September 16, Argentina on September 22, and thrash Georgia on September 26. Maybe.

the 'namibian player' in your picture, is actually 'french' player tony marsh (who is indeed playing for france in that particular image). not a namibian in sight.

unless, Che, you've updated in the meantime?

absolutely. i thought that picture of a one-legged namibia player was kind of appropriate to their chances.

A pretty subjective, lazy/rushed, insulting and overall disappointing post/profile! Yes they may be Poo, but at least give an objective look at who they are, where come from, and maybe even a mention of why they're so Poo...there are after all people who support them...People who will clutch their jerseys and belt out the national anthem, who will scream and throw beer cans at TV, or people who will travel thousands of miles to go and watch a team play from a Country that they grew up in and love!! Whether they are Poo or not, we all know whats its like supporting our national teams - and should be sportsman like when expressing our views on other sportsman/ sports teams.
I guess you'll just argue "freedom of speech", but from someone who enjoys reading this site and listening to the Podcast - I was a little disappointed.

b) "from someone who enjoys reading this site and listening to the Podcast - I was a little disappointed."

You'd think from listening to the podcast you'd know that a) is our modus operandi. ;)
